MHPOffice is addressing 2 different codeset changes in January 2013. These are the CPT codes, and the Place of Service codes.

Read on for how to take advantage of these code changes.

Place Of Service

Code 18 - "Place of Employment- Worksite"

CPT 2013 Revision

There have been extensive changes to the CPT codeset.  For instance, virtually all 9080X codes have changed!

To assist with this, you will need to update your Cost Of Services, such as sliding scales, to contain the new codes.

We have made this easy with our updated settings:

In the Medical Coding section of MHPOffice's Settings, you can now choose your favorite codes in the new CPT code list.

Click on the CPT 2013 (Active) link, and you will see the new CPT codes. We have chosen the relevant psychotherapy codes for you to choose from.

After choosing your favorites, you may update your Cost Of Services so that your invoices can reflect your new codes.

When editing your Fees, you will notice that the "add more prices..." link now allows you to choose the CPT revision. Choose the 2013 option, and select your new codes.

... But what codes should I use?

We strive to offer the best tools and resources, but when there is a possibility that our choices won't be correct, we err on the side of the clinician's knowledge. That said, we plan on adding lots more improvements as the new ICD-9 & ICD-10 codes change this year, and will be more than happy to assist with your migration to the new codes.

If you need assistance, please open a support ticket and we will be glad to help!

Happy 2013!
